It's often stated that the "golden age" of American guitar manufacture ended in 1966. Guitars made after this date are not considered to be of such high standard.

Well there was a second "golden age" of guitar manufacture...

Japanese craftsmanship is World standard, and
from the start of the 70's, through to the early 80's, some of the best guitars were made here.
 
From the late 80's through early 90's , Korea took up the challenge , with teams led by the same Japanese master builders from the 80's golden years , again producing a world class product.

To purchase this quality level in a new guitar today, requires a significant investment.

It is now exclusively reserved for luxury handmade instrumnets.
